Eric’s Biography

Hey everyone! My name is Eric Iden and am so excited to sen/e the kingdom of God with you! I have heard nothing but great things about you and am excited to be a art of your story, as we grow together as disciples of Jesus Christ.

A little bit about me: I grew up in the thumb of Michigan in a small farming town called Kinde (Kinde is near Bad Axe. People tend to know where Bad Axe is more than Kinde!) I was blessed to be born to two loving parents, as well as the oldest of 3 brothers.

Within a two mile distance from my house, I had great grandparents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and many cousins all surrounding me, so I understand the importance of family.

When I was in high school, I was very active in my youth group, although I never had an understanding of what it meant to truly follow Christ. During this time, my youth pastor invested in me, and through his life and teachings, I began to understand that following Christ was a lifestyle, notjust something you do on Sunday mornings. It was at this point I really accepted the love and grace Christ offered and decided to truly start following him.

Around this time, I sensed Christ calling me into ministry. I didn’t understand what that meant, but decided to explore that call after I graduated from High School when I attended Spring Arbor University. At Spring Arbor, I pursued a degree in youth ministry, dabbling in a little broadcasting on the side. I continued to explore this calling with the guidance and mentorship of some great professors, deepening my faith in the classroom, as well as multiple ministry opportunities. I had the opportunity to participate with a few youth groups in the area, and eventually ended up in an internship in Jackson, leading a young adult ministry Through this experience, I worked with young adults, youth, as well as adults, and I sensed a call to adult ministry.

Some Random Facts About Me

l’ve always been fascinated with radio. I was employed at Spring Arbor’s radio station throughout my years there, as well as a few other radio stations in the area, doing on air work, production, as well as sports broadcasting (which l still do a bit.)

Mentors have played a huge part in my life. l’ve been blessed to have a few great ones.

l love sports and can be seen rooting for the Lions (even through their terrible seasons), the Tigers, and the Michigan Wolverines. Sorry to any MSU fans that may be upset by this comment.

I love people. Young, old, etc. l just love people.

l’m so excited to be walking in ministry with you and look forward to how God will move in the life of the church. Grace and peace to you as we do life together!

Your brother and servant in Christ, Eric
